A. Philip Aitsebaomo, OD

Dr. A. Philip Aitsebaomo obtained a B.S in Biology, Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and a Master’s Degree in Physiological Optics from Indiana University, Bloomington Indiana. Subsequently, he obtained a PhD degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) in 1989 but remained at UHCO as a full time Assistant Professor for three years. He left UHCO to go into Private Optometric practice when he opened Alpha Eyecare Associates, PLLC. He maintained an Adjunct faculty position at UHCO where he continued to teach in the Contact Lens clinic, and mentored students. He is actively involved in research, and has published several articles in peer reviewed professional journals.

Dr. Aitsebaomo joined the faculty at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, in 2012. His teaching responsibilities include Optometric Business Development, Contact Lenses, as well as instructions in the contact lens and primary care clinics.

Dr. Aitsebaomo is a member of several professional and civic organizations including the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and is the President Elect of the National Optometric Association (NOA). He is also President of the African Coalition Political Action Committee in Houston.
